PRODUCTS OVERVIEW

CDX offers several products and features to assist carriers with statutory data reporting requirements and to exchange data with Data Collection Organizations (DCOs). Access to these products and features is restricted to authorized CDX users. If you do not have access to one or more of the products listed, please contact your primary administrator.

CDX

One of CDX’s primary features is to provide a mechanism for carriers and DCOs to securely exchange data electronically. The files adhere to WCIO standards and are securely exchanged through file transfer protocol (SFTP). CDX provides an administrative product for carriers and DCOs to configure user account access and communication preferences.

For more information on CDX, see the CDX User Guide.

PEEP® (Policy Entry & Edit Package)

PEEP provides the ability to enter, edit, validate and electronically submit workers’ compensation policy information to DCOs in the required WCIO WCPOLS format. Users of this product can create new transactional policy data, or they can import WCPOLS files for editing and validation of previously created transactions. After the transactional data is entered and validated, users can create WCPOLS files for either download or submission to the DCOs. Once submitted to a DCO, users can view the status of sent files to ensure the file was received and processed successfully.

The validation edits available within the PEEP product are limited and only review the data contained within the individual transaction. Once a file is submitted to the DCOs for processing, additional validation may occur at the DCO. It is possible that a transaction might pass PEEP validation, but fail validation once received by the DCO. If necessary, please check with individual DCOs for more information on their procedures.

For more information on the PEEP product, please see the PEEP User Guide.

BEEP® (Bureau Entry & Edit Package)

BEEP provides the ability to enter, edit, validate and electronically submit workers’ compensation unit statistical information to DCOs in the required WCIO WCSTAT format. Users of BEEP can create or import WCSTAT files for editing and validation. This provides the user the ability to correct errors prior to submitting the data to the DCOs for processing. After a unit report is validated, users can create WCSTAT files for either download or submission to the DCOs. Once submitted, users can view the status of sent files to ensure the files were received and processed successfully.

The validation edits available within the BEEP product are limited and only review the data contained within the individual report or correction. Once a file is submitted to the DCO(s) for processing, additional validation may occur at the DCO. It is possible that a report or correction might pass BEEP validation but fail validation once received by the DCO. If necessary, please check with individual DCOs for more information on their procedures.

For more information on the BEEP product, please see the BEEP User Guide.

ETR

The ETR product provides a user access to search and view previously transmitted submission files and to upload new submission files to CDX for transmission to the DCOs. Both the ETR Search and the ETR Log pages provide users with filter options to locate specific files to view the status and any errors, if applicable. The user is also able to download a copy of any submission file that was received by CDX within the previous 30 days.

For more information on the ETR product, please see the CDX User Guide.

EXR (Experience Rating)

EXR provides access to search, view, print, and create PDFs of experience ratings that are issued by some of the DCOs. The EXR product also includes merit ratings for those DCOs that have chosen to display them through CDX. Currently, the following DCOs utilize the EXR product: DE, MI, MN, NY, PA, WI. To obtain ratings for CA, MA, NC, and NJ, please visit their respective secured websites.

If a user is not able to locate a desired experience rating value, please contact the originating DCO for assistance as the EXR product only contains the data the DCO has exported to be displayed. Experience rating data is routinely purged according to CDX’s retention policy.
